Placing porcelain dental veneers.
The first step toward improving dental aesthetics achieved with porcelain veneers is an appointment with Delta Dent to discuss their treatment goals.

At this time, Dr. Alberto Merino will provide comprehensive advice about the procedure for the placement of porcelain veneers and explain what you can expect from treatment.

During the second visit, the teeth will be prepared for the placement of porcelain veneers.

To lightly sand the surface of the anterior teeth, a skilled cosmetic dentist reduce a layer of about half a millimeter of enamel from the front of your teeth.

At the end of the process, is placed very thin porcelain veneers to replace enamel. Later take a mold of your teeth.

From this mold, are prepared as porcelain veneers to fit your teeth and beautify your smile.

Porcelain veneers can even adapt especially reshape crooked teeth that otherwise would require orthodontics.
In the third and final visit, we placed porcelain veneers on the teeth.

At this time, the dentist will be able to match exactly the color of porcelain veneers with the surrounding teeth.

If you want to put porcelain veneers on all teeth, the dentist will choose the right color that has a beautiful luster and look real.

After making sure the fit and the color of porcelain veneers to their liking, using a special light to harden the adhesive.

You then have a bright smile and lasting with the new porcelain veneers.

Another good reason to say yes to early treatment in orthodontics is that the child will reap the benefits at many levels.

• simplify and shorten or avoid the more complex treatment in adolescence;

• preserve capital dental (extractions of teeth, premolars and wisdom teeth, amputated up to a quarter of Heritage Dental, eight teeth);

• avoid the painful transition from surgery as an adult in case of atrophy of the jaws (action required when a missed period of growth, eg in cases of prognathism);

• intervene in children by an appliance or simple techniques, much less stringent than the rings at a time when he is receptive, and avoid disrupting the teenager who already suffers from many difficulties without it being necessary ‘add more;

• avoid many side effects caused by rings, either on the teeth (cavities, heaving, root resorption) or on the body;

• avoid wearing a splint to life for early treatment undertaken in temporary teeth are stable (as opposed to late treatment reoffend);

• improve posture by correcting the position of the tongue;

• improve the general health, including addressing the problem of mouth breathing so harmful in terms of vitality and aesthetics;

• improve growth and body schema by removing the bolts associated with poor occlusion;

• obtain a smooth face (not just a dental alignment) with the proper development of databases that are the bony skeleton of the face;

• prevent sleep apnea, potentially fatal disease is not inevitable.

Say yes to early orthodontic treatment is common sense.

Hopefully attitudes are changing and that the practice is spreading to the greater good of our children.

Say yes to early treatment in orthodontics means to recognize as early as possible in children early signs of malocclusion.

In case of toothache, Didier Le Bail, naturopath in Paris, explains how to get relief through natural remedies. However, this advice does not relieve a visit to the dentist as soon as possible to determine the cause of the pain!

Carious tooth

“I have a cavity I quickly seek treatment. Recently, my teeth became very sensitive. What can I do until my appointment with the dentist? ”

In Stage 1 of the cavities, no pain: only the enamel is achieved.
In Stage 2 of the cavity, the dentin underneath the enamel is in turn affected. Result: the onset of sensitivity to heat, cold and sweet.
In Stage 3, it was the turn of the pulp (tooth nerve) to be reached. Result: a nice toothache! The risk of tooth abscess is not far.

Natural solutions:

• Aromatherapy: 1 drop Clove ET (anesthetic and potent antibacterial) or ET 1 drop Clove 1 drop + ET Wintergreen (analgesic, anti-inflammatory) on a cotton swab to apply against the tooth. Another option recommended: 3 drops ET Savory mountain (antibacterial powerful) + 2 drops Peppermint ET (anesthetic) + 1 drop Tea tree ET (powerful antibacterial) + 3 drops of vegetable oil (hazelnut, sesame, macadamia, Calophylle). Apply 2 drops of the mixture on the caries + 2 drops on the cheek next to the pain 3 to 4 times per day.

• Hydrotherapy *: practice mouthwash the hydrosol of Laurel (2 shares) and Sage (1 part). 3 to 5 rinses per day.

• Herbal medicine: the mother tincture of Plantago major (plantain) has a reputation for calming oral diseases. In cases of painful cavities, pour a few drops of mother tincture undiluted on a cotton swab to apply against the tooth.

• Clay therapy: with a little water and clay, make small balls that you suck then. Relief of pain should be obtained fairly quickly.

Devitalized tooth and crowned

“My dentist is to conduct a thorough cleaning of a tooth crown having undergone micro leakage. He installed a temporary tooth. Any risk of infection is not removed, he prescribed me an antibiotic to use in case of occurrence of edema. As I find a shame to wait until the situation deteriorates to intervene, I would like to know if there is a natural way to act immediately against the possible risk of infection.”

From the youngest age one learns to dread decay. Rather than understanding dental care, there is every incentive to prevent these nasty intruders properly? Ending caries is not impossible.

Keep the smile of your child.

Your child is facing a formidable enemy: dental caries. To avoid unnecessary suffering and costly care, the best protection is prevention. With Doctissimo, learn all the tips to keep a smile on your toddler.

Caries: prevention rather than suffer.

This chronic disease of man the most common. It affects both the teeth as the permanent teeth and both men and children.

Tooth decay and diet.

Formerly, sugar was considered an exceptional and food was restricted to patients or consumed during festivals. For years, dental caries affected only adults, and has begun to reach out to children along with the development of the sugar industry.
The end of caries in Europe?

The shrill sound of the drill … you remember that ice still blood! But this technique is about to finally fall into oblivion! The prospect of living with healthy teeth and end his life with a perfect smile could become a reality in Europe.

The acid attack.

Acids weaken the teeth causing demineralization of enamel. This demineralization is the first stage of decay or disease of the tooth.

Caries: The adults are not spared!

“Stop the sugar and brush your teeth!”. The advice of your childhood can prevent cavities. Know that they are still valid in adulthood, because the caries attack indiscriminately. With Doctissimo, preserve your smile!

The treatment of dental caries.

Caria, a word that often shudder because it leads inevitably to a dental visit. Do not panic, first prevention avoids many of them. Finally, dentists are becoming better equipped to treat you well, without pain!

M’T teeth: Health Insurance takes care of your child’s teeth

Since 2007, the Health Insurance offers children and teens 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 years of free consultations prevention. For your children do not have a toothache and they know how to care every day, do not miss these appointments prevention offered.

Secrets of a fresh breath.

Few are those who have not suffered at one time or another, from bad breath. Some rules of hygiene can help reduce these annoyances.

Bad breath, otherwise known as halitosis, is not a mysterious phenomenon. We know precisely its immediate cause: it is due to the presence of sulfur compounds including hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercantile, which give the breath a smell of rotten eggs. A device even exists to quantify the presence of these compounds, altimeter which there is little evidence, however, useful in practice.

First charge: bacteria.

Nine times out of ten, causing bad breath is mouth. It is believed that bacteria accumulate in the furrows dug by the papillae on the posterior part of the language. It is these bacteria that produce extremely volatile sulfur compounds that escape into the exhaled air. The presence of these bacteria also explains the stench morning. Saliva is less abundant during the night, they tend to accumulate. The mere fact of getting up, drinking or taking his breakfast is usually enough to eliminate the smell and they are responsible.

The remaining question is why some people produce an abundance of sulfur compounds and other not. The poor condition of the gums, the presence of large cavities or treatment faulty valve can cause the accumulation of bacteria and food debris. So if you feel that your breath has changed suddenly so unpleasant, the first step is certainly going to visit your dentist to check the condition of your teeth and gums and to treat any cavities. It will also give you advice on hygiene, especially if you have periodontics, gum inflammation resulting in the formation of pockets between the teeth and gums, which accumulate food debris.

Brushing the tongue.

But most bad breath develops without specific cause, even among people with proper dental hygiene. One can hardly advise that some rules of hygiene. Brushing your teeth after every meal, use the floss in the evening to remove food debris between teeth is the minimum. But it is also recommended to brush the tongue, especially its posterior part, where the papillae are most pronounced, to eliminate bacteria. The tongue scrapers, available in pharmacies, can also be employed or a small spoon. Gums, inner cheeks and palate should also be brushed in order to expel the bacteria.

Mouthwash refreshing to essential oils (eucalyptus, mint ..) are just a few minutes mask the stench. Baths antibiotics, chlorhexidine-based, for example, are not recommended in regular use because of side effects. They criticized in particular to increase the risk of oral cancer. These baths can not replace the care of dental hygiene.

Avoid dry mouth.

Chewing gum, lozenges and other sprays also have a masking effect very ephemeral. But the former have the interest to salivate. We know that a dry mouth increases the risk of bad breath.

Some diseases or therapies can reduce the secretion of saliva. This is also the case of tobacco, which brings also its peculiar odor.

In case of insufficient salivation, it is necessary to ensure regular drink or absorb some foods, which sweep the deposits on the tongue.

Fishy.

Other causes of bad breath are well known. A rare genetic peculiarity, recently identified, the trimethylaminuria, causes a fishy odor. Unfortunately there are no really effective remedies. Some diseases commonplace, such as ENT infections are causes of bad breath.

Endodontics is the part of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of dental diseases that affect the dental pulp and surrounding tissues, including treatment of the inside of the roots (called a root canal).

The name of this dental specialty comes from the Greek words “endo” (inside), “dont” (tooth) and CIA (referring to).

When is it necessary?

When decay attacks the teeth it will gradually boring. The first thing is the enamel is damaged. If progress continues, it affects the dentine and, if it progresses further, it reaches the pulp where the nerve.

The process of progress is usually slow decay, so it is easy to detect them before they become too large. Without embargo not always see. They can be very tiny or be located between two teeth, so it must be our dentist who shall find. Often discovered through radiography.

Knowing Endodontics.

It always hurts. Sometimes we do not feel pain until you got the nerve and then it’s too late.

When decay reaches the nerve, it becomes infected and inflamed and it hurts. If inflammation persists, the nerve can lose their vitality. I do not feel pain, but there is pus coming out of the root tip, and causes an abscess. Sometimes the body reacts by forming a sort of capsule around and then produces an abscess.

What is it?

Endodontics is the opening of a cavity in the tooth and removing the nerve that has been affected by caries. It is what is commonly known as “kill the nerve.

Subsequently, the canal where the nerve was enlarged a few millimeters to a few special limitations of increasing thickness, and organic matter is removed from inside the pulp chamber.

Following disinfection, which is fundamental, the duct is filled with a material similar to plastic. This whole process is very delicate and sometimes very complex depending on the nature of each tooth.

If it is a molar or premolar, which have more than one root, this treatment should be done in all the roots of it. A root can even have more than one canal treatments by what will in all. Then cover the cavity and the tooth is rebuilt along with resin or metal.

This process saves the tooth from having to be removed, but leaves when he was weaker than their healthy nerve (without affecting the decay), which is why it is sometimes necessary to place them above tooth crown. Sometimes it is necessary to even place a sprig species, called pins or bolts, to increase the resistance of the tooth.

The dentist is the professional responsible for maintaining health and healing that we can have alterations in the mouth and teeth. A positive attitude in parents and a tour before dental problems arising facilitate trust and rapprochement of the child to the dental office.

1. When should be the first dental visit

The first dental visit should be between 1 and 3 years old.
Parents should not expect to detect any alteration or that the child has pain because on this visit the dentist will not only seek any alteration so early but it can detect a looming problem that can be prevented.

Moreover, positive first visit where the child is not practicing any treatment, as this helps start a cordial and trusting relationship with the dental professional and general care of their teeth.

Unlike what many parents think, the first tooth or teeth, but then are replaced by the definitive, should be treated when they decay and their infection may cause alterations in the germ of the permanent tooth underneath. They also happen to the space problems of permanent teeth as a premature loss of a tooth there makes a hole in the gum for longer than necessary so that the surrounding teeth can move forward and occupy it, leaving no space for permanent tooth to erupt . First Visit to the Dentist

From the first visit is advisable to take the child to revisions twice a year.

2. Attitude in the dental clinic

On the first visit to the dental parents must accompany the child and be present during it.
In it, the dentist will only child, a clinical examination and medical history where affiliation collect data (name, age, address …), the existence of a disease that has the child, which in the past, if you are taking any medication, family history of illnesses that could have repercussions in the mouth, etc..

Also explain to parents the potential need for dental treatment and what will this.

Normally, when the dentist asks the child to do something, he looks around to their parents for approval and inappropriate attitude all these difficulties the child’s response. Thus, in subsequent visits, parents should not go to the area of the dental chair so the dentist can establish a direct relationship with the child without parental mediation, which will facilitate the child’s responses in the dental office.

For the child does not feel abandoned and being quiet is a good strategy to leave the mother or a garment bag in sight of the little which ensures that the mother is waiting outside.

If despite this the baby cries, parents should not worry because it is a normal reaction to the unknown. If the dentist has experience in handling children know how to quell this behavior and make the child do not panic.

Many children cry for claiming the presence of parents, so that should not be tricked into entering the office and let the professional handle the situation. We know that if our presence is required we will alert the dentist.

If the child behaves well we reward their attitude to reinforce this behavior in successive visits. Otherwise it is not advisable to punish him as it would increase the negative feeling that the child has before the dental visit.

3. The importance of parental attitude

The attitude and comments from parents before going to the dentist are picked up quickly by children.
So parents have a great responsibility in the image the child to be his first visit to the dentist. The first contact with the dentist is very important to the future attitude of the child and affect their behavior in successive visits to the dental office.

What never to do

Never threaten the child with him to the dentist or doctor if they misbehave because these professionals associate with something bad, with a punishment that would not have to behave well.

Some parents after lie and threaten their children with all kinds of atrocities that will make the doctor still surprised that the boy break to mourn just see a white coat.

Nor should take the child to the query by deception, because think it’s a bad place if their parents have had to trick him to agree to go.

What is advisable

Parents should explain to the child that the dentist will see his mouth, and you will see how many teeth you have and talk to them. Should avoid words like pain, damage, etc.. and not make comments like “not going to hurt” that make the child become defensive.

If the child has been a contributor is necessary to reinforce good behavior with praise and prizes. And make positive comments about the dentist, on the query or on other children waiting in the query.

It is good to explain how good it is have gone to the query so that their teeth are always healthy and used to initiate in dental hygiene.

The discovery underscores the importance of pregnant women, even those without other risk factors, maintain good oral health.

According to a study by the University of New York in the United States published in the Journal of Dental Research, pregnant women with periodontal disease, teenage a higher risk of developing gestational diabetes, even if they smoke or drink.

The discovery underscores the importance of pregnant women, even those without other risk factors, maintain good oral health.

The study, led by Ananda P. Dasanayake, eliminating smoking and alcohol consumption among a group of 190 pregnant women in Sri Lanka, where a combination of cultural taboos and poverty, preventing women from smoking and drinking.

The findings support an earlier study that found evidence Dasanayake that pregnant women with periodontal disease were more likely to develop gestational diabetes than those with healthy gums.

That study, which followed 256 women with Bellevue Hospital Center in New York in its first six months of pregnancy, showed that 22 of the women developed gestational diabetes. Those women had significantly elevated levels of periodontal bacteria and inflammation compared with the other women in the study.

More than a third of women in the new study, developed over a year, said they had bleeding gums when brushing teeth. The women underwent a dental examination and a blood glucose test, which is used to detect gestational diabetes.

As pointed Dasanayake, women who had the highest amounts of bleeding in your gums also had higher levels of blood glucose. He says he expected the final figures show that between 20 and 30 percent of the women had developed gestational diabetes.

Gestational diabetes is characterized by an inability to transport glucose, the main energy source of the organism to the cells during pregnancy. The condition usually disappears when the pregnancy but women who have had gestational diabetes have an increased risk of later developing the most common form of diabetes, type 2 diabetes.

Besides their potential role in preterm labor, evidence that gum disease may contribute to gestational diabetes suggests that women should see a dentist if they plan to become pregnant and then get it. The treatment of disease gums during pregnancy is safe and effective in improving women’s oral health and minimizes possible risks.

An advanced form of periodontal disease in children, may indicate the condition of early systemic disease.
It is widely believed that periodontal disease is an adult problem, however, studies show that gingivitis
(first stage of the disease), is almost universally in children and adolescents. Although advanced forms of periodontal disease are less common in children than in adults, they can occur, the most common include:

Chronic gingivitis. It is common in children, causes the gums to swell, turn red and bleed easily. It can prevent and treat following a regular routine of brushing, flossing and professional dental care. If not treated, can progress with time into more serious forms of periodontal disease.

Aggressive periodontitis is characterized by inflammation of the gums and large accumulations of plaque and tartar, which over time can cause teeth to become loose. Localized aggressive periodontitis occurs mainly in adolescents and young adults, may close to puberty and involve the entire mouth. The disease mainly affects the first molars and incisors (front). It is characterized by severe loss of alveolar bone.

Periodontitis associated with systemic diseases occurs in children and adolescents and adults. Conditions that make children more susceptible to periodontal disease are: Diabetes. Type 1, Down syndrome, Papillon-Lefevre syndrome.

Signs of periodontal disease.

There are four basic signs indicating periodontal disease in a child:

1. Bleeding from gums when brushing, flossing or at any other time.
2. Swelling and redness of the gums.
3. Recession, concerns gums that have receded from the teeth, sometimes exposing roots.
4. Constant bad breath that does not disappear when brushing or using dental floss.

Early diagnosis is important for successful treatment of periodontal diseases, so it is important that children receive a periodontal examination as part of routine visits to the dentist.

The most important preventive measure against periodontal disease is to establish good oral habits in children. There are three basic preventive measures that will help your children maintain good oral health:

1. To establish good habits early on oral health. When your child is 12 months, you can begin using toothpaste when brushing your teeth. Use only a drop of toothpaste and push it into the bristles so that the child will not eat it. When the spaces between his teeth close, it’s important to start flossing.
2. You set a good example practice and Buenos oral health habits.
3. Make regular visits to the dentist for your family: checkups, periodontal evaluations and cleanings.
4. Examine the lips of their children and check signs of periodontal disease, including bleeding gums, swelling, redness, recession of gums and bad breath.
