Are dental work forever?
Occasionally patients ask me if the dental work, whether we are finishing the crown, the bleached-fill or lifelong.
The last dental restorations according to the care and food and hygiene habits are taken. Even under the most devoted care, nothing lasts forever.
It should be noted that the restoration of your teeth are under constant pressure to wear and acids, especially those accustomed to eating sweets or drinking too much soda. Therefore, we can not expect to last more than 10 or 15 years.
So if I get a crown does that mean that I no longer worry about the tooth?
The crown still have your job because the structure of your tooth was weakened, or needed a root canal (root canal). The crown protects what is left of the tooth. However, even the crown itself can not “bite”, the rest of the tooth is continuously exposed to bacteria, sugar and cavities, especially in the line where the crown ends and begins his tooth.
