It always hurts. Sometimes we do not feel pain until you got the nerve and then it’s too late.
When decay reaches the nerve, it becomes infected and inflamed and it hurts. If inflammation persists, the nerve can lose their vitality. I do not feel pain, but there is pus coming out of the root tip, and causes an abscess. Sometimes the body reacts by forming a sort of capsule around and then produces an abscess.
What is it?
Endodontics is the opening of a cavity in the tooth and removing the nerve that has been affected by caries. It is what is commonly known as “kill the nerve.
Subsequently, the canal where the nerve was enlarged a few millimeters to a few special limitations of increasing thickness, and organic matter is removed from inside the pulp chamber.
Following disinfection, which is fundamental, the duct is filled with a material similar to plastic. This whole process is very delicate and sometimes very complex depending on the nature of each tooth.
If it is a molar or premolar, which have more than one root, this treatment should be done in all the roots of it. A root can even have more than one canal treatments by what will in all. Then cover the cavity and the tooth is rebuilt along with resin or metal.
This process saves the tooth from having to be removed, but leaves when he was weaker than their healthy nerve (without affecting the decay), which is why it is sometimes necessary to place them above tooth crown. Sometimes it is necessary to even place a sprig species, called pins or bolts, to increase the resistance of the tooth.
