Are dental work forever?
Occasionally patients ask me if the dental work, whether we are finishing the crown, the bleached-fill or lifelong.
The last dental restorations according to the care and food and hygiene habits are taken. Even under the most devoted care, nothing lasts forever.
It should be noted that the restoration of your teeth are under constant pressure to wear and acids, especially those accustomed to eating sweets or drinking too much soda. Therefore, we can not expect to last more than 10 or 15 years.
So if I get a crown does that mean that I no longer worry about the tooth?
The crown still have your job because the structure of your tooth was weakened, or needed a root canal (root canal). The crown protects what is left of the tooth. However, even the crown itself can not “bite”, the rest of the tooth is continuously exposed to bacteria, sugar and cavities, especially in the line where the crown ends and begins his tooth.
What are crowns?
There are different materials used to make crowns. For many decades, before the restorations with tooth color had its heyday, the best crowns and restorations were made of gold.
Today, still continues to make crowns and gold restorations, but there are also gold with porcelain, in which gold is inside the crown and the porcelain with the color of your natural teeth out.
Other metals that are used to make porcelain crowns include titanium. According to each case and there are also provided only porcelain crowns. Especially in the front teeth effect is totally natural, and no one will notice has a crown on your teeth.
Every time I go to the dentist my teeth are more trails, a moment that will have no more cavities?
Whether a child, adolescent or adult, would be worthwhile to examine their eating habits and oral hygiene regime you have in your home.
Your dentist can fill all cavities every year, but if you keep taking drinks (soda) every day, chewing gum, not brushing or flossing at least twice daily, decay and destruction of their teeth continue.
It is also possible that your dentist did not detect any decay in its first review, or made a cursory examination and cavities that were detected were the most obvious.
Whatever your dental treatment needs, if you do not have a maintenance plan and dental hygiene, dental work does not last as long as they should. See your dentist regularly and periodically. Order a full and detailed examination of your teeth and try to arrange everything you need, instead of one or more teeth each year.
