In the oral cavity are bacteria that convert food, especially sugar and starch, into acids. Bacteria, acid, food debris and saliva combine in the mouth to form a sticky substance called plaque that adheres to teeth and is more prominent on the back molars, just above the gum line in all teeth and the edges of fillings.

The plaque is not removed from the teeth is mineralized and becomes tartar . Plaque and tartar irritate the gums, causing gingivitis and ultimately periodontitis . Plaque begins to accumulate on teeth within 20 minutes of ingestion of food, which is the time when when most bacterial activity. If plaque is not removed thoroughly and routinely, tooth decay will not only begin, but flourish.

Blush (blush or blusher) is a fundamental part of our makeup. Has the power to make us look like witches or princesses.

So you must know how to choose well what blush to use, and you also know how to use it. Blush should in principle combine with your skin color and the rest of makeup. This is very important, because in order for makeup to be successful there must be a unit or a general concept on how to paint the eyes, lips, nose, throat and skin.

If your skin is yellow or pale orange and papaya flushes leave a good impression. Now if you have to naturally flushed skin, you should use pink or blush wine, but with great discretion, but if your skin is olive or copper tends to tone, flushes are right for you gold and bronze scale.

Aside from the color of your skin, you should take into account the type of skin you have. So you know what kind of blush to use, since the blushes come in different forms, and each is suitable for skin type.

The cream blush is recommended for dry skin. Thus, hydrate skin and give you the light you need. But if you get a flush fluid, it can cause a stiff effect.

The flushing liquid is more suitable for oily skin, it is absorbed more easily, and is not shiny or greasy. If in this case you get a cream blush, the skin will get even more fat and the result will be disastrous.

And in regard to that comes in powder, you can apply to almost any skin type. In addition, the variety of colors that offers compact powder blush is the most comprehensive out there. You wear it with a brush. If it is daytime, the best tones are neutral and if it’s dark, dramatic colors are better and stronger.

If you have more than forty-five years is not recommended to use powder blush, as it settles and accumulates in the folds of your skin, which causes them to stand out. Instead, flush for liquid or cream, the latter being the most appropriate, it will make your skin look more youthful, healthy and hydrated.

If you’re in a hurry and do not flush the scope, you can use a little lipstick and blend with your finger. You can also apply a soft shadow and blend with a small brush, but do not get used, cosmetics are made for each area of ??your face.

Finally, we propose another solution very modern and gives good results combined flushes. Their colors are neutral, that look good on almost any skin type, making it easier to buy one of these.

Home Teeth Whitening
Place a teaspoon of table salt in a plastic or glass bowl and add a few drops of lemon into a paste. Stir well and put a little of the pasta on your toothbrush. Brush vigorously to highlight those parts that have more yellow spots or areas. After several days of continuous use you will notice the change, as fine salt acts as an abrasive and acid lemon and stain remover.

Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors the national month for dental health of children to emphasize the importance of dental hygiene in children. The campaign’s main function is to emphasize the importance of dental hygiene, instill good dental health habits in children and encourage parents to bring their children regularly to the dentist. The campaign theme for 2010 is: “To have a bright smile, is important to brush and floss.”

The importance of dental health
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than a quarter of preschool children have tooth decay. Also, before age 19, almost 66% of children have cavities in their permanent teeth.

Available figures suggest that children from low-income and racial minorities are those who suffer from tooth decay. In fact, according to the National Survey of Children’s Health , Hispanic children are less likely to receive preventive dental care to children from other demographic groups, which is very worrying, because the preventive dental care reduces the chance of tooth decay and other conditions such as gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and permanent loss of teeth.

There are several reasons why racial minority children lack dental health preventive services, including the cost of these services, the lack of dental insurance, the low participation by dentists in dental public health programs, and the geographical distance these services.

Cavities
Cavities are the most common chronic dental among children living in the United States. Cavities are the result of the presence of bacteria on the teeth too (we all have a bit of bacteria in our mouths, as it converts sugar into acid food). However, an excess of bacteria, in combination with food debris between the teeth and saliva, forming plaque (a sticky substance that adheres to teeth and if not removed by brushing the teeth can become tartar ). Both the plaque and tartar irritate the gums, causing gingivitis.

In addition, dental plaque contains acids that can dissolve the enamel (mineral layer that protects the surface of the teeth), creating voids (cavities) in teeth. Cavities generally do not cause symptoms until the gap reaches the dental nerves, causing pain or tooth fracture. Cavities can also marry abscesses and tooth loss.

How to prevent tooth decay in your children?
There are several strategies to prevent tooth decay. First, it is important that our children eat a balanced diet and limit snacks that are high in sugar.

Another important aspect of dental hygiene is to brush your teeth at least twice a day. To do this, do not expect children to grow much. As you leave your newborn her first teeth, can be cleaned with a damp cloth or a toothbrush without toothpaste newborns, since the teeth at this age are still very fragile and babies not yet eating food particles that can leave teeth.

Experts also recommend not letting your baby sleep with a bottle in his mouth, as the continued presence of liquids such as juices and milk, can damage the teeth.

The two year olds can begin to brush their teeth using a small amount of toothpaste that contains fluoride, which prevents tooth decay. It is also important to teach your children the proper techniques for brushing your teeth, especially the mouth rinse after brushing.

The use of thread or dental floss at least once a day also helps to remove plaque and food particles that remain between the teeth and gums.

If you have teenagers, talk to them about the health risks of cigarettes and other products containing snuff, and how they can stain your teeth. The chewing snuff, for example, can cause lesions in the mouth and lips, swollen gums and tooth loss.

If your children are doing sports or strenuous activities, experts recommend that you wear protective gear, including helmets and mouthguards.

Visits to the dentist
The children of one or two years should see a dentist at least once a year. After this age, children should see their dentist every six months.

Some states in the United States add fluoride to drinking water. Fluoride is a chemical. If your home does not have drinking water with fluoride, which can check with your local water and sewer-check with your dentist the best way to care for their children’s teeth as well as the use of dental sealants (a layer protective plastic that is placed on the surface of the molars to protect them from decay).

Prevention is the best strategy to reduce the likelihood of dental problems. Cavities, for example, can cause pain, difficulty chewing and may cause your child has learning disabilities and behavioral problems.

Good dental health, combined with proper nutrition and access to dental health services, can reduce the incidence of caries in the teeth of our children.

Your child’s smile is one of the greatest gifts for a mother and therefore are important care of your teeth from the moment of birth. It is necessary to ensure good dental care and take the express warranty provides free dental care for children in Chile for six years. Dr. Maria Jose Letelier, advises the Department of Oral Health of the Ministry of Health, explains how to help your little one when they begin to sprout teeth and some recommendations for dental care of children.

Child dental protection programs
Within the so-called GES (Explicit Health Guarantees) of AUGE of Chile, is considered the care of the teeth of the children . From the moment of birth, your little protection has teeth for all types of ambulatory dental emergencies such as pulpitis, abscess or subperiosteal submucosal odontogenic origin, anatomical spaces abscess oral-maxillo-facial, pericoronitis acute oro-pharyngeal phlegmonous odontogenic origin , ulcer-necrotic gingivitis acute post-extraction complications. GES coverage is effective dental care for mothers FONASA affiliates, as for those who have other health provision, as Isapre.

At 6 years of the child , when I get ready to dump their milk teeth to permanent teeth develop, there is the Oral Health Guarantee Comprehensive boys and girls six years old. In this program the dentist performed comprehensive care free that includes education, prevention and recovery of damage to their teeth on stage child . The family must bear in mind that the care of their teeth is a behavior that children learn by imitation, so good oral hygiene in the mother, father and brothers, will affect dental adequate protection of children .

His first teeth

Dental protection your little should combine regular oral hygiene, a balanced and orderly with the use of fluoride toothpastes after two years. The first control dental recommended two years of age, but the life of your child’s teeth began much earlier. According to Dr. Letelier “the teeth of milk begin to form in the third week of pregnancy when the baby is born brings in the thickness of the jawbone, outbreaks of the 20 teeth of milk , and the outlines of what will give rise to permanent teeth. ” On average, the normal development of teeth in the infant stage begins with the outbreak of the milk teeth from six months. According to the specialist, during this time your little one will suffer more inconvenience and uncomfortable, so you should be aware of symptoms such as “increased the amount of saliva, a tendency to bite hard objects, swelling and redness of the gums, including there may be loss of appetite, restlessness and sleep light. “

You can help reduce your discomfort easily. It is advisable to give an object to bite hard consistency. There are special toys for this stage of your child’s teeth, however, if you do not have one solution could be in your show closer, it serves as a piece of seaweed clean and cold. When the baby already has his own teeth, as a mother can transmit bacteria or cavities in your mouth to the child, so it is important to take care of your teeth during pregnancy with special care to brush your teeth after every meal, because as said the doctor, the frequent “cravings” can promote the development of caries .

The right care

The children live in constant risk of cavities in their teeth often irreversible damage because they eat at odd times, higher consumption of sweets and do not yet have the correct handling of the toothbrush. Therefore, it is vital that you take the lead in prevention and protection of your child’s teeth. For Dr. Letelier is important to regular oral hygiene, “at least twice a day, especially at night brushing after the last meal of the day, since the production of saliva decreases at night, unable to protect our teeth as effectively as in the day. ” The recommended duration is three minutes, with gentle movements to ensure the removal of plaque from the teeth and tongue for both children and adults.

The use of fluoride toothpaste will help protect against dental caries little after two years, but must be present and supervise their use so as not to swallow it before. A diet low in sugar, moderate consumption of soft drinks, with at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, six to eight glasses of water and ordered a meal time also facilitates the healthy life of your child’s teeth, so you can ensure the protection dentistry during their childhood . Follow these recommendations for the care of your teeth will let you know that every time your little one gives you a smile you can be proud of your joy and your mouth healthy.

When the first tooth, it’s time to start using the toothbrush, which has a head the size of three baby teeth maximum. The bristles should be soft, flexible and rounded.

The areas where the baby still has no teeth should be cleaned with gauze yet. Brushing should be circular movements touching the gums and little teeth, inside and out. Toothpaste is not recommended, because the baby tends to swallow the toothpaste, which promotes the appearance of stains on teeth.

The easiest and safest to wash my baby’s teeth, is placed on a horizontal surface. The bathroom is not the best place, because there are distractions for the child, and also the surface is slippery. Hold your child’s head with one hand, and the other appropriate cleaning.

Many people think that gum disease is a problem that only affects adults. However, studies indicate that gingivitis (the first stage of periodontal disease) is nearly universally in children and adolescents. Advanced forms of periodontal disease are more rare in children than in adults but can occur.

Types of periodontal disease in children
Chronic Gingivitis: it is common in children. Usually causes inflammation of the gingival tissue, which becomes red and bleed easily. Gingivitis can be prevented and treated with a regular routine dental care, brushing, the flossing and professional care. However, if allowed to proceed, it may eventually evolve into forms of periodontal disease more severe. Periodontitis Aggressive can affect the young people who are completely healthy in other respects. Localized aggressive periodontitis in adolescents and young adults and mainly affects the first molars and incisors. It is characterized by severe loss of alveolar bone, but at the same time, patients generally form very little dental plaque or calculus.

Generalized aggressive periodontitis: may begin around puberty and involve the entire mouth. It is characterized by inflammation of the gums and the large accumulation of plaque and calculus. Can eventually lead to tooth mobility and subsequent loss.

Periodontitis associated with systemic diseases, occurs in children and adolescents as it does in adults. The conditions that make children more susceptible to periodontal disease include: · Diabetes Type I · · Down Syndrome. Papillon-Lefevre syndrome, for example, in a review of 263 type I diabetics in children 11 to 18 age, 10 percent had periodontitis manifest.

Signs of periodontal disease
There are four basic signs of periodontal disease

Bleeding gums during brushing, flossing or any other time. The presence of swollen, red and shiny. Gingival recession that sometimes exposes the roots. The constant bad breath that can not be eliminated brushing and flossing. Adolescence and oral care Evidence suggests that periodontal disease may increase during adolescence due to lack of motivation to practice oral hygiene. Children who maintain good oral health habits to 10 years are more likely to continue with the habits of brushing and flossing than children who were not taught about proper oral care. The hormonal changes associated with puberty may influence a greater risk for periodontal disease. During puberty, an increased level of sex hormones such as progesterone and possibly estrogen, causes increased blood flow to the gums. This can cause an increased sensitivity of the gums and lead to further reaction or response to any irritation, including food particles and plaque. During this time, gums may become swollen, red and be sore. As adolescents progress to puberty, the tendency for the gums to become inflamed in response to irritants decrease. However, during puberty, it is very important to have good oral hygiene regimen at home, including brushing, flossing, and dental checks for. In some cases, the dental professional may recommend periodontal therapy to help prevent damage to the hard and soft tissues surrounding the teeth.

Indications parents dentist
Early diagnosis is important for successful treatment of periodontal diseases. Therefore, it is important that children receive a periodontal examination as part of their routine dental visits. The dentist should inform parents that if your child has an advanced form of periodontal disease, this may be an early sign of systemic disease. We consider a general medical evaluation for children who exhibit severe periodontitis, especially if there is resistance to therapy.

Many medications can dry out the mouth or other treatments affect oral health, for which the professional should ask about any medication that may be taking family members. Monitor questioning the family to see if anyone there has the habit of teeth grinding or bruxism. Bruxism may increase the risk of developing periodontal disease and cause fissures or cracks in the teeth. In this case this should indicate a protective plate to be used at night to prevent it. The researchers suggest periodontal disease transmission through saliva. This means the common contact of saliva in families may put children and couples at risk for periodontal disease. If a family member has periodontal disease, all family members should consider professional counseling for a periodontal evaluation.

The most important preventive step against the disease is to establish good oral health habits of children. The basic preventive steps to help your child maintain good oral health are: To establish good health habits early. When the child is 12 months old, you can begin to use toothpaste when brushing your teeth. However, only applies to the portion size of a pea on the brush and press it into the bristles to avoid the child swallowing. And when the diastema is closed, it is important to start flossing. Teach by example by practicing good oral health habits. · Attend regularly to control dental checkups for the family, periodontal evaluations and cleanings. Review the child’s mouth for signs of periodontal disease, including bleeding gums, swelling and redness of the same, gingival recession and bad breath.

If the child currently has poor oral habits, we must work to change them. It is much easier to modify these habits in a child than an adult. The adult must be a positive role model in the role of oral hygiene.

Healthy teeth are important for all children, but in the special case of our son, who suffers from heart disease is even more important. If the germs that live normally in the mouth get into the bloodstream, they can reach your heart, a heart defect is due to its easier to infect a healthy heart.

According to the Foundation Hearts Giblets, recent comparative studies among healthy children and children with heart problems have shown that parents of children with heart problems are less important and less attention to dental care for parents of healthy children. Results are very worrying if we consider that healthy teeth in children with heart disease is even more important than in healthy children. If the germs that live normally in the mouth get into the bloodstream, they can reach your heart . Infection in the heart, called “infective endocarditis” is a very serious disease that requires treatment in hospital with antibiotics for several days. This is why we must take special care to keep your mouth clean and healthy. To avoid such unwanted infections and their consequences, the Spanish Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease recommends a few simple tips:
Teeth cleaning. You have to brush your teeth properly after every meal. In very young children when they begin teething (between 6 and 16 months of age) is recommended to clean the mouth once a day with gauze soaked in water. The best time is before you put him to bed at night. When I go to have more teeth (2 years) you have to use special soft toothbrush for children, and ye are parents, you have to take care of the cleaning, and help the child until you know it alone (7 years of age).
